Doc stabbed at mosque: I’m so lucky
A DOCTOR who treated Manchester bombing survivors has spoken about how he was stabbed in the neck outside a mosque.
Dr Nasser Kurdy, 58, was attacked on his way to an Islamic centre on Sunday evening in what police have called a hate crime.
At his home in Hale, Manchester, the surgeon said: “I knew nothing vital was affected.
“It was a random attack and if it’s going to end up how it has I’m lucky.”
He was taken to hospital with a three-inch wound, but afterwards released.
Akram Malik, of Altrincham and Hale Muslim Association, said: “I urge the community to respond to hatred with love.”
Two men aged 54 and 32 were arrested within an hour of the attack.
