MUM ALWAYS PUTS SISTER BEFORE ME

Dear Coleen

My mum favours my sister, even though she has caused my parents so much grief over the years. Nothing I do is ever enough, while she and her family get invited for meals, receive loads of presents and tons of help with the kids.

On the other hand, me and my family never get an invite and it’s causing a rift between me and my sister to the point where I don’t even want to speak to her again.

My mum doesn’t realise that she’s splitting the family and it’s causing me a lot of heartache.

Is this a common thing, and why do parents do it?
