Defour on a Burn-up

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

STEVEN DEFOUR has revealed how surviving hell under boss Sean Dyche in pre-season salvaged his Burnley career.

The £7.4million signing from Anderlecht in August 2016 flopped last season and Olympiakos wanted him on loan in the summer.

But the Belgium midfielder, 29, has started all six of Burnley’s Premier League games this term.

Defour said: “On gaffer’s day, that was the moment.

“It was basically two hours of only running and then the day after I had a good recovery. It was hard obviously – but I started to realise I can do the job.”
