Pyjama party as Will & Grace wakes from its 11-year slumber

-

The stars of American sitcom Will & Grace plan a sleepover tonight to watch the US premiere of their small-screen comeback — more than a decade after the original show ended.

Debra Messing (Grace), Eric McCormack (Will), Megan Mullally (Karen) and Sean Hayes (Jack) will put on their PJs to enjoy the return.

Debra explained: “We have to have a viewing party. I bet it’s going to be at Sean’s house. It will be popcorn and in our pyjamas.”

She revealed that it didn’t feel like it has been 11 years since the show was last on TV, adding: “It was after we shot the first episode live in front of the audience, that’s when it hit me.

“We all just got very teary-eyed. It was really an incredible moment.”

Show producers scrapped the original series finale, which went 20 years into the future to imagine Will and Grace each having children.

The new episodes will be a return to the old days placing the focus on the four friends, with Debra adding: “We’re back to where it all began and where the magic sort of lives.”

No UK screening deal has been agreed.
