Teacher ‘had sex with teen in his office at girls school’
A DRAMA teacher who had sex with a teenage ex-pupil at a £38,000-a-year girls boarding school has been banned from the classroom for life.
Matthew McGowan, 38, “engaged in sexual activity” in his office at Wycombe Abbey School, Bucks, and in his car, a National College of Teaching and Leadership panel heard.
McGowan started an “inappropriate relationship” with the sixth-former after writing “Happy Valentines Day from a secret admirer;)’’ in her diary. He sent flirty emails, touched her bottom and stroked her thighs, it was claimed. The relationship turned sexual after she left school.
The panel rejected his claim she made false allegations to stop him getting married. He was banned from teaching for life.
