C4, 9pm There’s election fever at Harrop Fold School when head teacher Mr Povey announces the first-ever search for a head girl and boy.

Talking to the Year 10 students, he explains: “This is about the best person for the job. The past doesn’t matter, your future matters.”

But there are social issues to consider. Self-confessed geek Rebecca wonders if she will be made fun of for applying. She’s going up against Chelci, who is desperate for the job. Meanwhile, there’s tension between long-time rivals Josh and Leon. Josh says: “Leon wants to win, I want to win. That’s rivalry at its best.”

But as the candidates are being shortlisted, Girhan throws his hat into the ring and could be the dark horse – he’s Mr Popular.

They all have to endure a rigorous interview selection process and a nail-biting live debate in front of everyone.

Watching the teachers rally to push these pupils to achieve their best is great telly, and you’ll be rooting for the students. REVELATION Stephen Moyer
