GOODBYE PHONEY BLAIR

-

I imagine that I’m only one of many who can remember the hope and euphoria of 1997, when New Labour came to power to the sound of Things Can Only Get Better ringing in our ears and a real sense of hope for the future after years of Tory rule. Tony Blair was a breath of fresh air to many of us.

Unfortunately, his biggest mistake was backing President Bush in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Although Mr Blair thought he was doing the right thing, he wasn’t. Now, all of a sudden, he sees himself as the elder statesman who wants to share his knowledge and thoughts on all issues. No thanks, Mr Blair. Without you things, indeed, can only get better!
