Short cut is a 208-mile trek

-

AN elderly driver who tried to take a short cut made a wrong turn and ended up more than 200 miles away.

He set out on a brief local journey from Camborne in Cornwall but drove through Devon and Somerset before he found himself in Gloucester.

The confused pensioner was finally traced after two police forces were alerted he had gone missing.

They said he had taken the A30 then picked up the M5, travelling 208 miles, but was safe and well.
