Poch says: Moussa’s mojo back

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

MAURICIO POCHETTINO admits Moussa Sissoko could have left Tottenham during the summer.

But he praised the Frenchman for reviving his Spurs career after being weighed down by his price tag last season.

Midfielder Sissoko, 28, failed to live up to expectations last term, following his £30million arrival from Newcastle.

And Spurs would not have stood in his way if a suitable offer had come in for him in the close-season.

But he stayed and has produced a number of improved performances.

His upturn in form was confirmed after receiving a France recall yesterday.

Pochettino said: “Sissoko was interested in leaving because he wanted to play more in a season that has the World Cup at the end.

“But I was more than happy for him to stay and give him a chance to play.

“From the moment that he stayed here this season, he has tried to convince me that I should give him more chances to play.”
