England suspend Stokes and Hales

BEN STOKES has been plunged into cricket limbo after he was suspended by the ECB pending their investigation into his late-night brawl in Bristol.

It means, as things stand, England’s star man is not available to play in the Ashes until the discipline commission decides on his fate.

Stokes (above) and Alex Hales were told they would not be available for England until further notice.

That followed a series of crisis meetings within the ECB – and consultation with the police whose own investigation into events is ongoing.
