TIME NOW FOR BORO TO PULL THEIR WAITE

- BY SIMON BIRD

RIVERSIDE striker Martin Braithwaite has told his Boro team-mates it’s time to repay the fans against Brentford today.

Boro’s promotion campaign has faltered slightly after a haul of just one point from two games.

And Dane Braithwaite (below) said: “There’s a lot of people giving a lot of their salary to come and watch us play.

“It’s been frustrating and I’ve been feeling the frustration of the fans too. The positive with this league is that you have so many games. When you have a bad result you don’t have to wait too long to get back to it.”

Brentford have suffered just one defeat in their last six league matches and boss Dean Smith says his side have the confidence to get a result at the Riverside, managed by his former Wednesday team-mate Garry Monk.

“Middlesbrough have got a very strong squad and they’re one of the favourites to gain promotion,” he said.

“My old team-mate Garry Monk did a fantastic job at Swansea City and at Leeds United last season so it will be tough but one defeat in six puts us in a good position to get a result there.”
