WILL SHE BE PUT OFF BY NUDITY?

Dear Coleen

I’m a gay woman in my 20s and there’s a girl I really like at work.

I’d love to approach her to ask her out for a drink, but I’m worried she’ll think it’s odd that I’m a naturist.

I think a lot of people have the wrong impression of naturists and assume it’s weird or that we’re permanently nude.

Do you think she’ll find it strange and should I tell her?

I don’t think she’ll assume you’re naked all the time, as presumably you’re not nude in the office.

I’ve actually had a few letters over the years from naturists with similar worries, but when you go out on a date with someone for the first time, there’s no reason to blurt out ‘I’m a nudist’. You find out a person’s likes and dislikes as you get to know them.

But if you do date her and when you bring it up she says I’m not into that at all, then maybe you need to think whether she’s the right person for you.
