ROY DELIVERS ONE HELL OF A B ****** ING

- BY DAVID McDONNELL BY DAVID McDONNELL

EVEN when he isn’t scoring, Marcus Rashford invariably ends up being Manchester United’s match-winner this season.

ROY HODGSON has called on his Crystal Palace players to “run their b ****** s off” to try to escape their miserable plight. Palace, without a point or goal this season, slumped to a seventh straight Premier League defeat. And up next for Hodgson’s dispirited side is a clash with reigning champions Chelsea. He will be without several key men, and says the rest of the team must increase their work-rate if they are to have any chance of dragging themselves out of trouble. Boss Hodgson (above) said: “Christian Benteke won’t be back for a few weeks, so we still won’t have a recognised centre-forward.

“Wilf Zaha probably won’t be back. Ruben Loftus-Cheek can’t play as he’s on loan from Chelsea.

“So the lads that I put out there will have to run their b ****** s off, if you excuse my expression, to try to do the best job they can possibly do.

“We’re a wounded animal in more ways than one, because of the start we’ve had and the fact we’re doing it without five or six very important regular players.”

And tensions within the Palace squad could well rise as Hodgson and his staff get tough with the players. “It’s going to get more fractious because we put our messages across quite strongly,” said Hodgson.
