Mosque knife victim’s family say: It’s terror
THE family of a 15-year-old boy stabbed outside a mosque have described it as a terrorist attack.
Syed Hassan Abbas is fighting for his life after being knifed nine times in the face and neck in the early hours of Saturday.
He was targeted when he went to collect brother Syed Nedhi, 17, from a lecture during a religious festival at Idara Maarif-e-Islam Hussainia mosque in Small Heath, Birmingham.
Syed Nedhi said: “This is a terrorist attack and I just want to know who did this.”
But West Midlands Police said it was not terrorrelated but may have been religiously or racially motivated.
A 29-year-old man arrested in connection with the attack was being questioned yesterday.
