POWER OF PROTEST
The NFL players ‘taking a knee’ to protest against racism and Donald Trump are well within their rights according the First Amendment. All power to them for providing a voice for the voiceless.
Donald Trump doesn’t understand the art of diplomacy or political nuance. Instead of addressing the issues raised, he attacks the protesters in a crass manner. Showing his true colours, he is only helping to increase the anthem protests ten-fold. Martin Jackson Macclesfield, Cheshire
In response to J Foster of Birmingham (Madeuthink, Sept 28), as a Londoner, I certainly don’t want Boris Johnson to be Prime Minister. That was my worst fear when Cameron resigned. As Mayor of London, he closed 13 fire stations, putting lives at risk. Who would want someone like that leading the country? If Mrs May has any sense, she’ll demote this clown to the backbenches.
