PM backs Manchester blast victim ‘harassed out of job’

- BY BEN ROSSINGTON

THERESA May has backed a victim of the Manchester Arena atrocity who felt hounded out of her job for taking time off to recover from her injuries.

Julie Thomas, 34, was among victims who met the Prime Minister in Manchester on Saturday.

The Mirror revealed the same day how Julie, in a wheelchair following the terror attack in May, quit law firm Dickinson Parker Hill after feeling “harassed” by questions of when she would return. She said of meeting the PM: “Her assistant had copies of the paper, she knew what I’m going through. She said it was disgusting and shouldn’t happen, and needed looking into.” No10 did not comment. Julie of Liverpool accuses the firm in Ormskirk, Lancs of constructive dismissal and discrimination. The firm denies this and will fight the case.
