ZARATE’S BACK AND OFF AGAIN

- BY DARREN WITCOOP

WATFORD have sent Mauro Zarate to play in the United Arab Emirates for the season following his recovery from a knee injury. The striker, who was sidelined for eight months, has joined Dubaibased Al-Nasr on loan. Hornets manager Marco Silva is not short of attacking options, which means there is no place for the Argentinian in his short-term plans. Former Vicarage Road boss Walter Mazzarri gave Zarate another crack at the Premier League in January following spells with Birmingham, West Ham and QPR. He caught the eye in his three appearances before a ligament injury cut short his campaign. Watford put a clause in the loan deal allowing them to recall the 30-year-old in January if needed.
