BEWARE THE HANGERS-ON

- BY JOHN CROSS

MARCUS RASHFORD has admitted that some players cannot trust all of their friends after his sudden rise to stardom.

The Manchester United teenager (left) claimed he has become wary of hangers-on trying to make money out of his fame.

Rashford, 19, said: “People are maybe trying to build themselves up off the back of you. You know, for me, it’s not like that because I have friends around me.

“It can be anything, it can be your own friends, or even people’s family members, it’s difficult but what are you to know. I have people around me that guide me and keep me away from certain things.

“And sometimes as a young player, that’s just what is needed.

“When I was younger and when I’ve learned how to deal with certain situations, it was my family who taught me how to do that, so you know it’s come for me.”

Rashford now trusts his brothers Dwaine and Dane to look after him, while his mum used to work in a bookies but has a different life now.

He added: “My mum used to work in a bookies, my brother used to work as a personal trainer. But my brothers just look after me now, and my mum relaxes.”
