GARETH’S GUIDANCE FOR ALLI

- BY JOHN CROSS

GARETH SOUTHGATE will talk to Dele Alli this week about his diving shame and discipline issues.

The Tottenham midfielder was given a one-match ban by FIFA after his middle-finger gesture against Slovakia last month, ruling him out of Thursday’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.

Alli, 21, was also branded a “cheat” after being booked for diving against Huddersfield on Saturday.

Former Premier League referee Graham Poll claimed Alli “could not stop cheating” and that comes on top of the Spurs star (above) also serving a Champions League ban.

England boss Southgate (below) called up Alli for the double header with Slovenia and Lithuania before his FIFA punishment was known.

But even though Alli will miss the Slovenia game, this get-together represents a chance for Southgate to speak to him about his behaviour on the pitch.

It would be a concern for England if Alli gets into more disciplinary issues and Southgate is desperate for him to stay out of trouble so he does not miss big games.
