Britain tops G7 inflation

-

BRITAIN’S inflation rate, which hit 2.9% in August, is the highest of the world’s leading economies.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development says the average among other G7 nations is 1.7%.

UK figures have been stoked by rising clothing and fuel prices. Among the 35 developed OECD economies, inflation was highest in Turkey at 10.7%.
