Killer cut off man’s penis after attack
A MAN stabbed a refugee to death in a “savage” knife attack before hacking off the victim’s penis “at the root”, a court heard.
Jeffrey Barry, 56, stabbed neighbour Kamil Ahmed, a Kurdish refugee from Iraq, 25 times in the face and eyes, a jury was told.
Barry, who has paranoid schizophrenia, had been discharged from psychiatric care 12 hours before killing Mr Ahmed in July.
Weeks before, Barry had called police claiming Mr Ahmed was a rapist, a paedophile and a terrorist.
In 2013, Mr Ahmed was allegedly attacked by Barry, but no action was taken.
Barry, from Bristol, denies murder but admits manslaughter by diminished responsibility.
The trial at Bristol crown court continues.
