DAN EVANS says he is determined to return “to the sport I love” after being handed a year ban for a positive test for cocaine.

The ITF announced the suspension nearly six months after Evans (right) failed a test at the Barcelona Open. The ban has been backdated, meaning the British No.4 will be eligible to play again on April 24 next year.

“I am determined to return to the sport I love,” said 27-year-old Evans, who had reached a career-high ranking of 41 in March but is now down to 108.
