Aguero’s six-week KO blow
REAL LEGEND SAYS LIFTING TROPHIES FEELS GOOD BUT BEING A FATHER IS THE GREATEST HONOUR OF ALL
SERGIO AGUERO will be sidelined for six weeks with a broken rib – dealing a fresh blow to Manchester City’s title push.
Aguero was initially ruled out for two to four weeks following a car crash in Amsterdam last Thursday.
But Argentina team doctor Donato Villani says Aguero, City’s top scorer this season, will be injured until mid-November.
Aguero, 29, will miss Argentina’s final two World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Ecuador, and Villani said: “He’s feeling very bad as he was really looking forward to coming to play and this incident left him out of the two games. He’s going to be off the pitch for a month and a half.”
Six weeks out will see Aguero miss both of City’s Champions League games against Napoli, as well as four Premier League games, including against Arsenal on November 5.
