We’ll be OK after Bale KO...

- BY JAMES NURSEY

CHRIS COLEMAN has issued a rallying call to Wales after superstar Gareth Bale’s devastating injury blow.

Bale (right) has been ruled out of their final two World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and the Republic of Ireland.

The Real Madrid ace, who has

26 goals in 68 caps, was yesterday deemed unfit after scan results on a calf injury. But boss Coleman (below) pointed out that his unbeaten second-placed Wales side coped earlier in other Group D games without star players. He insisted: “We are in good shape, it is all to play for. We have always been a little half a step behind, but we have injuries this campaign which we never had last campaign. “You don’t get there with ones and twos, though, it is about everybody. This campaign we haven’t always had Bale, Aaron Ramsey or Joe Allen. They are obviously three super-special players and we haven’t always had them.

“But the lads who have come in have been absolutely magnificent.”

Bale’s injury could sideline him for a month and jeopardise his availability for the November play-offs, should Wales finish runners-up. It could also end his chances of both Champions League games against his former club, Tottenham. But Coleman has belief in his men after they previously qualified for the Dragons’ first major finals since 1958 – making the last four of Euro 2016. Speaking at the FAW Awards, where Bale was named Players’ Player of the Year, Coleman added: “They are an extra special group. “I said after the euphoria of the last campaign and the tournament that we wanted to be going into the last three or four games still being in it. “I get the feeling they want to do it again which is very important.”
