Gardener’s Question Time is rooted in the Second World War when Brits cultivated vegetables to beat food shortages.
It was seeded from How Does Your Garden Grow? – hosted by Bill Sowerbutts, who helped teach the nation to Dig For Victory in 1947. It later flowered into today’s Radio 4 hardy perennial. To mark the anniversary, The Queen asked the team to broadcast at Frogmore Estate, Windsor, tommorow at 3pm.Here show veteran Matthew Biggs answers some of the most popular questions posed.
