£24k bill over crush boy, 5
A MAKER of novelty penny machines had to pay £24,000 in fines and costs after a unit toppled over and crushed a boy of five.
He suffered serious injuries on a visit to the National Museum Wales, Cardiff, in October 2015.
The museum had its Penny Press, which creates souvenir coins, put on wheels. Prosecutors told Cardiff magistrates that this made it unstable.
The company admitted breaching health and safety laws.
