Baird TV part goes on sale

A GLASS lens from John Logie Baird’s first ever TV set of 1926 is up for offer.

The spherical object formed part of a revolving disk in the device built by the Scottish inventor.

Humbert Auctioneers, of Towcaster, Northants, says the “important piece” could go today for £1,200.
