Ryan’s grief over ‘ageing rockstar’ dog

- BY MARK JEFFERIES

DEVOTED Ryan with dog RYAN Gosling has told how he wears his late dog’s identity tags as he mourns the loss of his pet.

The La La Land star, 36, was devastated when his “good friend” George died in December aged 17.

Asked about his unusual ALLEGATION Ashley Judd necklace by US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan told her: “Yeah, that’s George.”

He said George had been his constant companion, joining him on “almost every film, everywhere”.

He said he found it hard to think of George as a dog because he did not behave like one. He added: “He was a good friend to me. I think he felt being a dog was beneath him.

“He would not do tricks. If you wanted him to sit down you had to sort of convince him it was in his best interests.”

Ryan, who has daughters Esmeralda, three, and Amada, 17 months with his partner Eva Mendes, said George looked like an “ageing rock star” before he died, “skinny-fat and he had big hair, no teeth, open sores, but still sexy”.

He said he currently has no interest in replacing him.
