‘ENABLE CAN BE A GREAT’
ARC HEROINE Enable “can get even better” in 2018, the superstar filly’s jockey Frankie Dettori claimed yesterday.
Dettori gained a record fifth victory in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe when Enable stunned her rivals at Chantilly last Sunday.
Trainer John Gosden is in talks with winning owner Khalid Abdullah about returning the daughter of Nathaniel to the track next year.
And Dettori reckons there is more to come from Enable — even after five Group 1 triumphs in 2017.
“I can hardly believe I’m saying it about a brilliant Arc winner, but I think she can get even better,” said the Italian.
“As John said after the Arc, she’s only raced for 10½ months, so there’s a good chance we haven’t got to the bottom of her yet.
“Of course I’d love to see her stay in training as a four-year-old — her sire Nathaniel improved with age, so who’s to say she can’t become one of the greats?”
