Here come the, er, bridesmaid­s..

A BRIDE walked down the aisle followed by this huge entourage of 28 bridesmaid­s.

When Sarah Hellyer, 37, one of 12 children, first agreed to marry Matt, 46, she told him: “I want all my nieces to be bridesmaid­s.”

She also wanted Matt’s daughter and her best friend’s daughter to join her. But Sarah and Matt had a 10-year engagement and by the time they got round to tying the knot many more little girls had been born into the family.

So she wed in July accompanie­d by Hannah, 25, Isabel, 25, Emily, 23, Joanna, 23, Abi, 22, Anya, 22, Fiona, 22, Molly, 21, Esther, 20, Chloe, 20, Jade, 20, Rachael, 20, Victoria, 20, Maria, 18, Anna, 17, Carly, 16, Naomi, 16, Ellie, 15, Rosa, 14, Lucie, 13, Miranda, 13, Daisy, eight, Maisie, six, five year olds Erin, Lily, Juno and Ella, and Willow, age two. A vintage bus was hired to transport them all to St Mary’s Church in Sturminste­r Marshall, Dorset.

The couple also had two groomsmen and two page boys. Sarah, a teacher, said: “I would have loved all 28 of my nephews but I don’t think we could have coped with all of them too.”
