NORTH Korea has a bioweapons scheme capable of killing tens of thousands of people, experts fear.
Plague, anthrax and smallpox are among several killer agents Kim Jong-un’s regime is feared to have ready to fire at its enemies via missiles, bombs or plane sprayers.
Yesterday a Russian politician who visited Pyongyang said it is set to test missiles capable of reaching the US. That caused the US dollar to fall amid fears of a conflict. In the bio-weapons report from Harvard University in the US and Cardiff software firm AMPLYFI, 23,000 sites on the dark web containing biological references were found to have links to North Korea.
Images of Pyongyang’s Biotechnical Institute suggest it could make “military-style batches”, the report claimed.
Troops in North Korea are vaccinated against smallpox, it added, “suggesting either an interest in an offensive biological weapons programme or a bio-defence precaution”.
