DIARMUID GAVIN CUP for most inspiring gardener
A favourite of everyone at Mirror Towers this year was the work of Paddy Grant, of Downpatrick, in County Down.
It’s an enchanting menagerie of topiary, set in a landscape of billowing hills.
Nothing but sheer determination and a love of growing and shaping keeps him clipping despite suffering painful arthritis.
It’s as if Edward Scissorhands has been let loose, and his somewhat comical creations have ensured Paddy wins the Diarmuid Gavin Cup for Most Inspiring Gardener.
