ENGLAND WANT TO BE INVINCIBLE AND INVISIBLE
ENGLAND have hatched a cunning plan to go from invincible to invisible.
Not content with 19 wins out of 20 under Eddie Jones, the world’s richest union has commissioned a new state-ofthe-art shirt “designed to mask player movement”.
The dark grey alternate kit (right), “accentuated with a fiery red fade” on the sleeves, will be worn in the first of their three autumn internationals, against Argentina at Twickenham on November 11. An RFU statement read: “In line with England head coach Eddie Jones’ vision to be more disruptive and uncompromising on the field, the dark grey colour was chosen as a point of difference to the usual colour palette used by England.
“Inspired by distraction principles, the red fade feature is designed to make it harder to distinguish aspects of the body during the tackle.” Injury-blighted Wasps will be without England duo Nathan Hughes and Joe Launchbury, plus playmaker Jimmy Gopperth, for tomorrow’s trip to Saracens. Red Rose captain Dylan Hartley has recovered from his hand injury and starts for leaders Northampton at Gloucester.
