Ruth: My Strictly split dress gave son thigh anxiety
RUTH Langford’s racy Strictly dress got a very split reception from her family.
The Loose Women star said her husband Eamonn, 57, loved it, but it made 15-yearold son Jack squirm.
Ruth, also 57, said: “He said, ‘bet I’ll get some comments about that at school on Monday.’ That opening shot of me trying to be sultry was maybe a bit embarrassing for him.”
Her passionate James Bondthemed rumba in the split dress and a long blonde wig with partner Anton Du Beke, 51, got a score of just 15. Judge Bruno Tolioni said her “hips needed defrosting”.
But speaking as she opened the Alzheimer’s Society Surrey Memory Walk at Painshill Park, backing their Uniting Against Dementia after her dad’s battle with the illness, Ruth said of Jack: “He’s really supportive.” Meanwhile, Rev Richard Coles, 55, got the boot yesterday after a Paso Doble to Flash Gordon. He called his Strictly stint “intensely joyous”, adding: “I can’t really quibble with the decision.”
