Agony as race-hate monster targets mum

-

Frank has revealed he was plagued with further heartbreak when his mother was bombarded with death threats – because of the far-right hate group Combat 18.

The boxer said his mum Lynette, then 64, was forced to move after the group’s magazine published her address and phone number, leaving her open to be hounded with abuse.

Frank says in his new book: “It started with hate mail shoved through the letterbox. My mother’s crime? Giving birth to a black man making a name for himself in the world.” He goes on to say the letters became more sinister. “She even received one with a swastika saying, ‘Go home and die.’”

Frank says it did not end there. “There were frightening phone calls. It was clear these monsters knew exactly where my mum lived.”

The man responsible was eventually sentenced to 21 months’ jail in 1997.

But Frank, whose mum passed away last year, says: “If Mum hadn’t left her home, God knows what might have happened.”
