ENTERTAINMENT

-

ITV, 10.45pm

Remember when ITV launched The Nightly Show, causing outrage to viewers by moving the news? Well it seems producers have paid attention to the general rage and – the clue’s in the title (nice touch) – this latest offering is firmly in a later time slot.

Unlike The Nightly Show (may it rest in peace), which crashed and burned as a wannabe US-style chat show, this is firmly in the news genre. Hosted five nights a week by either Emma Barnett or Nick Ferrari, they will debate Britain’s biggest talking points, taken from the day’s headlines.

We’re promised high-profile guests from news, politics and popular culture, usually with opposing views to spark debate and “combative” discussion. Well, a fist fight never did harm ratings.

Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry is among the guests on tonight’s show, hosted by Nick. Others lined up include Nigel Farage, Alastair Campbell, Ann Widdecombe and Nick Clegg. GRIPPING Laura wants revenge on rapist Andrew
