Surge in sex abuse by kids

-

ALMOST 30,000 reports of children sexually abusing other youngsters have been made in four years.

Figures from 38 of the 43 police forces in England and Wales reveal 2,625 alleged attacks in schools.

And the probe by the BBC’s Panorama found alleged peer-on-peer abuse rose 71%, from 4,603 in 2013 to 7,866 last year. But 74% of cases in the period resulted in no action.

The Department for Education said any allegation “should be reported”.
