50 YEARS AGO (1967)

Che Guevara was caught and executed by the US-backed Bolivian army two years after leaving Cuba, where he helped Fidel Castro overthrow tyrant Fulgencio Batista in 1959.

58 YEARS AGO (1959)

Harold Macmillan led the Tories to a third consecutiv­e election victory with an increased majority of 365 seats to Labour’s 258. Dubbed “Supermac”, he claimed the results showed that “class war is obsolete”, and said Britain should use its economic strength to work towards world peace.

Former PM David Cameron is 51. He’s a descendant of King William IV. The X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne is 65. She is worth an estimated £171 million. Model Bella Hadid is 21. Her older sister, Gigi, is also a model. Actor Chris O’Dowd is 38. He is best known as Roy in The IT Crowd.
