Fred’s meal deal
These days, Frenchman Fred Sirieix is best known for C4’s First Dates.
But the maitre’d launched his TV career on the BBC in 2011, with Michel Roux’s Service. And now Fred is returning to host a BBC2 show that seeks out exciting new restaurateurs.
In six-part Million Pound Menu, those with the best ideas will be funded so they can realise their dreams. During the trials, some of the industry’s top figures will decide who deserves investments – think Dragons’ Den meets MasterChef.
Fred tells us: “The restaurant scene is booming with creativity. To play a part in discovering, nurturing and helping the next generation of restaurateurs is an opportunity like no other.”
