Doctors faked typhus outbreak to save Jewish lives
Polish doctor Eugene Lazowski and his friend Dr Stanislaw Matulewicz saved more than 8,000 Jewish people by injecting them with a fake typhus vaccine so they would test positive for the virus. The ‘outbreak’ kept Nazi forces away, saving thousands from deportation to concentration camps.
