ID SYSTEM WILL KEEP FANS SAFE

ENGLAND supporters will have to get a Fan ID to go to the World Cup next summer.

The special card will operate as a visa and fans will be able to apply as they get match tickets.

Russia still requires a visa for entry but the Fan ID is designed to allow the authorities to track supporters and they will be able to use it to get free train travel across the country.

Andrey Zakharov, the Deputy Chief of Moscow’s Police Department, said: “It is definitely safe for British fans to come here.

“Everything will be secure. There is nothing to be afraid of.

“The Fan ID system allows us to identify people who are present at the matches. This enables us to ensure security.”
