Over the past few years my wife has let herself go – her weight has doubled, our sex life has become non-existent and we seem to be together only through routine.

I work in a small factory with mainly female employees and one day a beautiful brunette colleague, who’s half my age, asked me to walk her home at nights. After a couple of weeks of this, she held my arm and then, one evening, she invited me into her flat. One thing led to another and now most nights we end up making love.

She now wants me to move in with her and I want to do that, too. The problem is my wife is now pretty much housebound and therefore dependent on me.

What’s the best way to break this news to her?

It could be that it doesn’t last with this other woman, but she’s offering something you’ve been craving and maybe it’ll be wake-up call for your wife. But right now, I think your only option is to be honest with her.
