Forget 24, Sir Trevor McDonald fronts a new show this week following a real-life murder hunt in 60 minutes.
He follows Northumbria Police during the “golden hour” – the vital first minutes after a crime, where they have the best chance of getting evidence to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Crime scene officers wore body cameras as they probed the murder of Alice Ruggles, 24, helping to convict ex-boyfriend Trimaan Dhillon.
Sir Trev says: “It was extraordinary. It is one of the finest things I have seen of its kind. And that is saying something.”
