RAIL ACCESS IS OFF TRACK

-

This week, 50 organisations are writing to the Secretary of State for Transport to demand that he restores vital Access For All rail projects as the UK still has nearly 80% of stations inaccessible to those with disabilities.

The Government’s own figures show that investment in rail accessibility will be paid back nearly three times over in economic benefits.

We are urging the Department to commit to delivering all deferred Access For All projects by the end of 2020. Faryal Velmi, Director, Transport for All; Richard Holmes, Public Affairs Director, RNIB; Linda Burnip, Disabled People Against Cuts and 47 others
