No more tears for Stankovic
JON GORENC STANKOVIC is close to making his Premier League debut for Huddersfield – after an injury that almost reduced the defender to tears. He has been sidelined for seven months after snapping knee ligaments on international duty with Slovenia’s Under-21s. The 21-year-old, who signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2016, was not expected to play again until December, but could make an early return this month.
He said: ”It’s been tough and I need to thank the physios, coaches and my family for keeping me mentally strong.
“I have wanted to cry, but they have told me to keep on going and everything will pay off in the end.”
