PRICE FREEZE PROMISE

-

Plus-size fashion firm N Brown has vowed not to raise prices despite taking a hit from the Brexit-fuelled slump in the pound. The company’s profit margins fell in the six months to September because of sterling’s weakness against the dollar, in which it buys its stock. Other fashion firms have upped prices as a result. But N Brown boss Angela Spindler said: “I haven’t raised prices in my time and it would be a last resort.” N Brown’s half-year revenues rose 5.6% to £453m. Takings at its Simply Be arm were up 21%, while menswear range Jacamo, plugged by former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff, was up 6.7%.
