‘Rape’ liar who drove PC to brink of suicide gets prison
A POLICEMAN contemplated suicide “on a daily basis” after he was falsely accused of rape, a court was told.
PC Paul Morgan spent five tormented weeks under suspicion until Samantha Murray-Evans’ lie was exposed.
She was jailed for 27 months for what a judge called a “vicious and sinister” way of getting her own back after the officer rejected her. PC Morgan said sex had been consensual after they met online. And Dyfed-Powys Police found she had sent him a string of messages, one describing the sex as the best she had ever had and telling him it had made her toes curl. At Swansea crown court, MurrayEvans, 44, of Birchgrove, admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice. PC Morgan, who spent a night in a cell, said he is off work with depression and anxiety.
