Hotel staff told: Don’t go into his room alone

-

FEMALE hotel staff were told not to go to Harvey Weinstein’s suite alone while he stayed in London.

Only men were sent when he ordered “in-room dining”, said insiders at the five-star Charlotte Street Hotel, in the West End.

And chambermaids went in pairs to clean his room.

A source said: “He was always rude and obnoxious to staff, as well his own staff in the public areas of the hotel, such as the bar.”

Owners Firmdale Hotels did not comment on the claims, or rumours of an incident with a maid.

Weinstein liked the Charlotte Street Hotel as it had a screening room in the basement.

He held a party for the film Philomena there in 2014, where he was pictured with actor Steve Coogan. The Affair actress Ruth Wilson also went to the bash. Film director Oliver Stone was dragged into a sexual assault row yesterday. Former Playboy model Carrie Stevens, 48, accused him of groping her at a party when she was Playmate of the Month in June 1997. Stevens wrote on Facebook that Weinstein and Stone were “two of a kind”. She said: “I was only 22. Oliver walked past me and grabbed my boob as he waltzed out the front door of a party. “I still remember the cocky grin on his face.” Stone said of the Weinstein furore yesterday: “A man shouldn’t be condemned by a vigilante system.” He added later that he had not been aware of the full allegations.
