SUCH PRIDE IN MAX’S LAW WIN
Having always been very proud of working for this newspaper – a real voice for real people – I thought I couldn’t get much more puffed-up with pride. But our donor opt-out victory – Max’s Law – has almost got me waving a banner with I WORK FOR THE DAILY MIRROR! emblazoned across it. The decision means that, on death, your organs will be used to help save lives, unless you’ve made a decision to opt out of the scheme. I signed my whole family up when I enrolled with my GP a few years ago – me, my squeamish husband and two teenage boys. The youngest agreed straightaway, but said he wanted me to keep his heart! That was hard. But if his heart can save a life…
