TV Gloria: My medal is for dead Caron

- BY MARK JEFFERIES Showbiz Editor

TV VETERAN Gloria Hunniford received her OBE at Buckingham Palace yesterday – and dedicated it to her late daughter Caron Keating.

Gloria, 77, recognised for her contributions to cancer charities, was presented with the honour by the Queen.

She lost Caron to breast cancer in 2004. But with the help of her sons Paul and Michael, she set up the Caron Keating Foundation, which supports small cancer charities in the UK.

Gloria said: “Caron would be very excited and I will dedicate it to her.

“Getting the OBE is very humbling because it’s not for showbusiness. This is for the foundation and it was a cancer charity that actually nominated me.”
